The Indian Competition System

Even after getting admission in Dental college, a medical aspirant resents and regrets all his years of being unable to crack the NEET UG exam. A UPSC aspirant goes on giving his 7th attempt at the age of 33. This is the sad reality of the cutthroat Indian Competition System that inevitably makes the clearance of exam as an accolade of achievement to be worn and thus get validated by society.

It impacts the mental well-being of lakhs of students who sit for these exams and makes them like a horse with blinders just to focus on the target and 'if you fail you are good for nothing' they say. A lot of them are just enrolling in entrance tests due to their parents' aspirations or even when they are unaware of their interests or capabilities. These are the questions to current education system and the society: What about those major proportion who fail?

Are their careers put on secondary options away from the pedestal?

Why are they not trained to explore other unconventional options which might fit their capabilities by schools and coaching centers?

Until how long the ability to perform under pressure and limited time will be judged for tutees who haven't even explored life yet?

Do we not need to have a solution system for pathbreaking careers too like research, etcetera for those who want to study but not for the sake of competition but for the thirst of knowledge?
